If your network interface card does not appear in this list refer
to your hardware documentation to determine if your card is
compatible with a card which is on the list. If you find a match
you can select the compatible card type during installation.
If your network interface card does not appear in this list refer
to your hardware documentation to determine if your card is
compatible with a card which is on the list. If you find a match
you can select the compatible card type to complete the
installation. If your card is not compatible with any of the
cards listed you will have to use the card driver supplied with
the card or provide your own card driver. Any card drivers not
supplied on the installation diskettes are considered to be
"other" card drivers. Unfortunately, the installation program
fails to complete properly if "other" is selected during
installation. To install NetWare Lite with your "other" card
driver complete the following steps.
1. Make backup copies of the original "program" and "driver" diskettes.
If you have a 720K or 1.2M floppy drive you can copy both original
diskettes onto one backup diskette.
2. Copy your card driver onto the backup diskette. If you made a seperate
backup diskette of the "program" and "driver" diskettes, you must copy the
card driver to the "driver" backup diskette.
3. Begin the installation program as you normally would but use the backup
diskette(s) instead of the originals.
4. When prompted to select a network interface card verify that "other"
is highlighted and press enter.
5. When prompted to insert the diskette which contains your card driver,
simply press esc.
6. Use the arrow keys to highlight the name of your card driver and press
enter.
7. Continue following the installation program prompts until the program
completes.
8. When the installation program completes, press esc to exit.
If you installed the card with non-default settings you will need
to create a configuration file to inform IPX. The configuration
file is named NET.CFG and should be located in the same directory
as the other NetWare Lite program files. The NET.CFG created by
NetWare Lite has the following format. Refer to your hardware
documentation for information on setting up your card and what to
include in NET.CFG.
